SFPK COMES TO SOCAL JAM!

What:
Southern Califonia Jam

A chance for my Norcal family to have a taste of Socal parkour! the plan is to go to Hillcrest park in fullerton and UCLA in los angeles, and maybe (if we have time) hit up santa monica pier to play.

When:

October 10-11, 2009

October 10

HillCrest park 12 Noon

-link-

we will all meet up at the 2nd parking lot on the left. im pretty sure there is tons of parking around this spot but dont take my word on it, ive only been there once haha. :P

October 11

UCLA 12 Noon

Meet at Medical Plaza 300 near the fountain (NW corner Le Conte Ave & Westwood Blvd, diagonally across from Burger King)

-link-

Parking is very annoying here at UCLA so we have to do a little walking. we have to park where student housing is and walk to westwood plaza. its also kinda tough to find parking so come a bit early and expect to drive around looking for a spot.

when coming off the free way onto wilshire (towards the school) take a left on Veterans or Galey (galey is closer to campus so this is preffered). when you see the apartments and housing area, start looking for a spot. make sure to read signs, some of the parking is 2 hour parking only. once you find a spot head over to the meeting spot.

I have not been able to explore too much hear but i hope to have a few friends come and show us some good spots, of course there is reason we cant just roam and look for spots as well. thats what were good at

Who:

anyone and everyone! sfpk and pkcali. and for a special treat, i will be giving a few people a call to try and get them out, you may know them, King David, Team Tempest and Levi Meeuwenberg. Dont get upset if there not there haha. i still have to ask them. ill update when i know for sure.

I'm down, where were you guys thinking about jamming?

honorable mention of Hillcrest in that thread. that's cool :)

lemme know what's what, because i live LITERALLY 5 minutes away from Hillcrest, and if I can get the time off work, i'd be more than happy to have some people crash here. we have a TON of room. I can fit like, 3 people in my room, 3 or so in our spare bedroom, and about 6 or so in our living room. plus we have a couch that'll hold 2. So yeah. keep me posted on the date.

YES! I doubt you want to come as far South as San Diego but either way, a SoCal jam sounds over do! I'm sure I could get up to L.A. if that's the case.

You guys want to have one big session are are you planning hitting up different local scenes?

i would like to have a few local place but i guess it will all depend on how many people come and how transportation will be with them.

i dont know how ucla will react with a big group because ive never been there to mess around especially with a group.

i do assume HC would be fine due to it being a park. (public?)

of couse im down for any ideas everyone has as well. i am still not familiar with good spots.

BEACH DAY!
Santa Monica Pier

Parking: There are 2 parking garages on 2nd street between Colorado Ave and Santa Monica Blvd. 1st 3 hours free. After that, $8 flat rate. these parking structures are walking distance to the pier so dont fret.

here we will play on the beach pier and work out equipment, or you can relax next to the water.
